The reason dental implants are a great option for people who are missing teeth, it allows us to restore the single tooth. In the past, the only option we’ve had is to put a, say, a bridge there or put a partial denture there. The problem with the bridge is that we’re connecting several teeth together. So if anything ever happens to one side or the other of that bridge, you got to replace the whole bridge.
With a dental implant, as we’re replacing one single tooth in there, if something happens to teeth on either side, you just do the work with that one tooth. But it also allows patients to floss easy, so home care is so much better. It’s something that you can chew on with less worries than we would with the bridge. Regarding dental implants and other dental services, I’ve been in this practice for 32 years now.
I’ve actually had a lot of these things done to myself. In my mouth, I’ve got two dental implants and one of them is right up in the front of my teeth. And so the nice thing is I don’t think you can actually tell which one it is. And that’s the beauty of this. We’re able to actually restore a person’s tooth completely.
