You may or may not know it, but people’s teeth can be completely replaced in their mouth using implants and bridges. One of the ways that we do that is called the All-on-X or implant retained denture. Rather than people suffering with teeth coming in and out like their grandma may have experienced, people are able to get these bolted in place or snapped in place. People can chew the things that they want to. They can smile and not worry about a social faux pas of teeth moving around or anything like that. And we have this capability nowadays and it’s amazing. I’m really excited about working with people who take on this project because the results and the life-changing effect that it can have on people’s social life and their ability to eat and chew and all this is just incredible.

If you’ve been missing your teeth for a while, you may have done some research on how to replace them. Or, if you’ve been wearing conventional dentures, you may have been searching for a better, more comfortable way to get your teeth back.
With any research into missing teeth, you no doubt came across information about dental implants. They are the best way to replace any missing teeth, as they will chemically fuse with your jawbone and help keep it healthy. With a typical dental implant procedure, the process often takes several months from start to finish, as the implants have to heal and fuse properly.
However, with an All-on-X implant procedure, the team at Above the Gate Dentistry offers a fantastic option that will allow you get your implants and new teeth in less time – all on the same day, in most cases. We’ll use just four implants to anchor a full arch of fixed teeth.
Here’s how the process will work:
- Your dentist plans your placement procedure using digital X-rays and 3-D imaging beforehand.
- Your dentist will numb your mouth and place the implants in your jaw(s) in precise locations using a computer-guided procedure.
- They will then attach a set of temporary teeth to the implants. You can immediately use these teeth for smiling, biting, and chewing.
- Your final restorations will be crafted by our lab partner during the period your implants are fully healing.
- You’ll return to our office after we receive them, and your dentist will secure your restorations to the implants.
In some situations, we may recommend using six dental implants per arch. If your jaw is slightly weak or more stability is needed, we will use the extra two implants to ensure you get the results and dental implant experience you expect.
