We have a philosophy of preventative dental care. We don’t like things that just sit and simmer until it becomes a problem and then we have to fix it because usually that means more money to fix it. We like to take care of people before they get to that point. We don’t really like the philosophy necessarily “If it’s not broke then don’t fix it,” or whatever, you know. Being able to get your teeth cleaned on a regular basis, get those fillings, I mean, you’re avoiding bigger treatments like crowns and root canals and all those kind of things going into the future if you can take care of things a little bit sooner.
You could put things on the back burner and wait or you can take care of it and keep your beautiful smile the way that it is without us having to change it too much. Coming to the dentist in the beginning for people who haven’t been here for a long time is always going to be an anxious scenario. I mean, we can go as far as doing a little bit of medication just to calm the anxiety. You know, but we’ve got blankets, pillows, TVs, and not just TVs but TVs on the ceiling so that when we’re working you can look at something else instead of our foreheads, you know.
We try to keep things quieter, you know. We try to…we do different techniques. Lots of people, they complain about coming and having to get a shot in their mouth or having needles. We try to make things as painless as possible, do distraction techniques. Other techniques that we’ve used, we’ve updated throughout the years whereas the field of dentistry in general has not. There’s lots of techniques that we’ve just tried to get better at so that our patients can just be more comfortable.
